Technician – Electrical / Mechanical
(Ballston Spa, NY):

Core Tech Industrial Corporation is currently seeking a person to fill a current need for a Mechanical / Electrical Technician. The qualified candidate must be able to read mechanical prints and electrical schematics to assemble and wire electrical assemblies

and equipment. Must be able to use basic hand tools and power tools used in building various mechanical assemblies. We are looking for a dedicated critical thinker who is self-motivated and can perform tasks with minimal supervision.

Job Summary:

The job will consist of various mechanical and electrical functions to be carried out during a project build including “Factory Acceptance Testing” using schematics and drawings. Building of electrical junction boxes and panels to print, wiring valves, stripping cables and assembling manifold assemblies. It will also include some light mechanical assembling to print using various hardware, including but not limited to nuts, bolts, clips, studs, pipe, fittings etc. Use of power tools (drills, saws and grinders) along with basic hand tools (wrenches, ratchets, screwdrivers etc.) are used to complete tasks during a typical project build.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Must be able to utilize and interpret electrical wiring diagrams or schematics, mechanical prints and recognize components.

  • Use project electrical schematics to build and test electrical control panels/boxes based on project needs

  • Perform operational testing using a digital multi meter to written procedures and specifications, and “Factory Acceptance Testing” of completed projects.

  • Possess a mechanical aptitude, do light fabrication and assembling

  • Layout and wire panels and junction boxes, drilling and or tapping of holes may be required, cutting of DIN Rail and Strut.

  • Drill or punch for components in enclosure or junction boxes made from Carbon or Stainless Steel.

  • Bend small diameter Stainless Steel and or Copper tubing runs and pressure test

  • Be proficient in the use of common hand & power tools to prepare and assemble mechanical and electrical components

  • Complete and maintain clear concise written project documentation and test documents

  • Be able to use Outlook/Excel – learn to program a laser engraving machine for custom tags and signage made in house.

  • Follow both detailed written and verbal instructions

  • Assist other departments as requested by management

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory is required, advance knowledge is preferred.

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude required

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and positive, can-do attitude

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • High school graduate or GED required. – Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.

  • Exercise safe work habits and maintain a clean and safe working area.

  • Basic computer skills, Outlook e-mail and Excel – can train on other specifics

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills, organizational abilities and work ethic

  • Ability to work well as part of a team

 

Physical Requirements:

Standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, color determination, near acuity, speaking, listening

Work Environment:

This work position is required to work in a light manufacturing environment facility.

 

Normal work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, lunch is 1 hour unpaid from 12-1pm with 2 set 15-minute breaks.
